Junk Mail house sign started it all

Our mailbox was overflowing with mail we mostly trashed

What could we design that was cool yet a clear NO JUNK MAIL?

We live on the gorgeous Gold Coast, SE Queensland, Australia with idyllic weather, white sandy beaches, crystal clear surf and letterbox's bulging with unsolicited mail. And I mean stuffed full to overflowing.

Take a holiday and half of all Tasmanians trees will be paper in that tiny space when we get back.

Having tried no-junk-mail stickers, buttons and shooting the odd pamphlet dropper nothing changed.

Like most of us we accepted that 1 in 10 letterbox items would be relevant to us and some of that actually mail and gave up the struggle until .....

Our advertising mate who has been known for an innovation or three said that we need to go where no man has gone and go BOLD, go BRIGHT go BIG and go BOTH.  Thats adman speak for a large sign that anyone can see and not miss, with both a message and house number on one.  Brilliant.

After a few Sav Blancs we worked out that the size 300x300mm was big but not too big, that advanced printing technologies could just about print anything to acrylic and finally  the words Junk Mail and Dislike demanded the obvious design.

Our first My House Number was born.

So inspired by social networking and an extreme dislike of Junk Mail we were the first in the neighbourhood with House Number sign.  As expected it has been a talking point for the street AND the junk mail improved to fewer than 2 from 10 items of relevant mail.

Others wanted this design and even more wanted their own design so the DIY Design Studio was developed for anyone create their own unique design using any image, any text and any colour.

We expanded from SQUARE to WIDE and now TALL.  All $49.95 and we ship to anywhere in Australia and internationally by special request.

We will regularly showcase new designs and also great tutorials on how to design your own.

Come on Australia Junk Mail was the start, now lets show that we are more than a number.
